Chicken and Rice
Ingredients
- 500 g Chicken pieces
- 200 g Rice
- 1 onion , chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 500 ml Chicken broth
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Spices of choice (e.g., paprika, cumin)
Instructions
1. Start by marinating the chicken with salt, pepper, and your choice of spices for at least 30 minutes.
2. In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat and add chopped onions. Sauté until translucent.
3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
4. Stir in the marinated chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
5. Add rice to the pot and stir to coat it with the oil and juices.
6. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
7. After 20 minutes, remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 10 minutes.
8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
