
Butternut Squash Apple Purée for a Baby
Ingredients
- 1 medium Butternut squash
- 2 medium Apples
- Water (as needed)
Instructions
1. Begin by peeling and chopping the butternut squash into small cubes.
2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
3. In a pot, add the butternut squash and enough water to cover the bottom of the pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
4. Cook the squash for about 10-15 minutes until it is tender.
5. Add the chopped apples to the pot and continue to simmer for another 5-10 minutes until the apples are soft.
6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
7. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth, adding a little water if needed to reach the desired consistency.
8. Allow the purée to cool completely before serving or storing in the refrigerator.
