Hearty Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 800 g Beef chuck, diced
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 onion , chopped
- 2 Carrots , chopped
- 2 celery Stalks, chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1 L Beef broth
- 2 bay Leaves
- 1 tsp Dried thyme
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 400 g Potatoes, diced
Instructions
1. In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add diced beef and brown on all sides.
2. Remove the beef and set aside. In the same pot, add chopped onions, carrots, and celery. Sauté until softened.
3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for a minute until fragrant.
4. Return the beef to the pot and sprinkle with flour. Stir to coat the meat.
5. Pour in beef broth and add bay leaves, thyme, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours until the beef is tender.
7. Add diced potatoes and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes until the potatoes are cooked through.
8. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Remove bay leaves before serving.
