Omnia Pretzel Rolls

Omnia Pretzel Rolls

Ingredients

  • 300ml warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60g baking soda
  • coarse salt for topping

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

4. Preheat the Omnia stovetop oven on low-medium heat.

5. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.

6. In a separate pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil. Carefully add the rolls to the boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove and place them on a baking sheet.

7. Sprinkle coarse salt on top of each roll.

8. Arrange the rolls in the Omnia around the central chimney tube, ensuring they are not touching.

9. Place the lid on the Omnia and cook for about 20-25 minutes, checking occasionally to ensure they are baking evenly.

10. Once golden brown, remove the lid and let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
