Omnia Whole Wheat Bread
Ingredients
- 500g whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 350ml warm water
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well to ensure the yeast is evenly distributed.
2. Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
4. Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf.
5. Grease the Omnia baking pan and place the shaped dough in the ring around the central chimney tube.
6. Cover the Omnia with its red domed lid and place it on a low-medium heat on the stovetop.
7. Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes, checking occasionally to ensure it is not burning. The bread is done when it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
8. Carefully remove the Omnia from the heat and let the bread cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
