Omnia Onion Bread
Ingredients
- 500g flour
- 7g dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 300ml warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 tsp dried herbs (optional)
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
2. Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, approximately 1 hour.
5. Once risen, punch down the dough and incorporate the chopped onions and herbs.
6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the Omnia baking pan around the central chimney.
7. Cover the Omnia with its lid and place it on a low-medium heat on the stovetop.
8. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, checking occasionally to ensure it doesn’t burn.
9. Once golden brown, remove the Omnia from the heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
